    Published on

Kenyan National Examination Council (KNEC) increased measures to combat exam malpractices a week before KCPE and KCSE exams begin.

KNEC has prohibited the distribution of additional exam papers and the entry of unauthorized persons to examination centers.

The deputy head, chefs, gatekeeper, and a nurse would be the only employees permitted in the exam centers, according to a notification issued by Rebecca Leseketeti, the KNEC official.

In addition, regardless of when the examinations commence, all students were instructed to be in their rooms by 8 am.

If a candidate failed to sit for a paper for whatever reason, invigilators were instructed to remove the desk from the exam room.

Invigilators and other authorities must preserve accurate time on exam day and make sure that no examination papers are opened before the allotted time.

Supervisors and invigilators should thoroughly inspect candidates to make sure no unauthorized items enter the exam room.
