“In partnership with counties, we will mainstream community health workers and make them the foundation of our healthcare system.
Health lies at the center of our socioeconomic development. We will revitalize primary healthcare by laying more emphasis on preventive and promotive strategies.
We have deliberately put small businesses at the center of our agenda by ensuring that they have access to affordable credit. We will also launch the Hustler Fund in December as part of our plan to facilitate the flourishing of such enterprises.
In our PLAN, we target to increase the housing supply fourfold from 50,000 to 200,000 a year. We have completed 2,592 units while 40,452 are a work in progress. It is our commitment that every Kenyan has access to affordable housing.
We are taking bold steps to revive our agriculture so as to end reliance on rain-fed farming and perpetual hunger. We are distributing quality inputs as well as ensuring that our farmers have access to extension services to enhance production.”
The speech was delivered by President Ruto at Mashujaa Day festivities in Nairobi’s Uhuru Gardens on Thursday, 20 October 2022.
