Advice from Uhuru to the military

Published on

President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged on the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) to back President-elect William Ruto’s administration and be loyal to the country.

Uhuru praised the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) once more during his parting speech at the farewell celebration held by the KDF on Friday, September 9, at the Ulinzi Sports Ground.

“I ask that you remain steadfast and support the incoming administration just like you have supported mine and that of my predecessors,” he said in his speech.

The outgoing president has thanked the armed forces for their support during his administration. Additionally, he emphasized government initiatives carried out in tandem with the military.

“I appreciate the support and participation that KDF has rendered not just in the security sector but also in our national development. We cannot underscore the incredible role that you have had in rehabilitating key infrastructure that had once upon a time left dilapidated,” he stated.

“The Nairobi-Nanyuki, Nairobi-Nakuru-Kisumu Metre Gauge Railway, Kisumu Dockyard, Mbita Causeway, and Kenya Meat Commission- just a few.” Uhuru said in his speach.

Uhuru claims that the projects have greatly improved people’s livelihoods by providing a reliable market for the pastoral villages, which had previously had difficulty selling their animals.

“All these are a dream that has come true to many Kenyans whose contribution to the livelihoods of our people will be largely impactful, especially to those who live in pastoral areas who now have a consistent and ready market for their livestock.” he added.
