After a lengthy trial, Mugo wa Wairimu to be jailed for rape.

    Published on

This morning, the verdict in the case against Dr. James Mugo Ndichu, alias Wairimu, who was accused of rape by a patient, will be announced.

It was scheduled for last week, but Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni of Milimani delayed the sentencing of Mugo because the verdict was not yet complete.

He’s also been hit with charges related to running a sham medical clinic.

Mugo has pleaded his innocence before the court and begged for his release due to a lack of proof against him.

He said that the lady who claimed he raped her in his clinic did not exist and that he had no idea who she was.

Several instances of rape against a female patient and running unlicensed clinics were among the charges leveled against Mugo in 2015.

In an attempt to defend his identity, he made a declaration under oath in which he denied ever using the identity Mugo wa Wairimu to run any kind of medical institution.

Mugo was convicted of running many illegal medical clinics in 2018, including Milan Health International Limited in Kayole, and is now serving an 11-year term.
