The seven cases that challenged the proclamation of William Ruto as President-elect have been merged into a single petition by the Supreme Court of Kenya.

While speaking before the court on Tuesday, August 30, Chief Justice Martha Koome said that they had come to the conclusion that it was in their best interest to merge the petitions in their effort to overturn Ruto’s win in the election.

The Chief Justice also made the announcement that the lead petitioner in this lawsuit would be former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The primary petitioner, Raila, has been allotted three hours, but the supporting petitioners have only been given thirty minutes each.
