Another Azimio member joins Kenya Kwanza

The Ugenya Member of Parliament-elect David Ouma Ochieng’s Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) party has formally defected from the Azimio La Umoja coalition to the Kenya Kwanza alliance.

On Friday, August 26, William Ruto, the newly elected president, declared that he and MDG had finally reached a deal following weeks of talks.

In addition, Ruto said that the union would aid the new government in achieving its goals over the next five years by promoting equitable development across all regions.

The Kenya Kwanza Coalition was lacking one of the jigsaw pieces, according to party chairman David Ochieng.

Since MDG is a Nyanza region party, Ruto further emphasized that the union does not have any ethnic boundaries. He also declared that ethnicity will no longer be used as a driving force in politics.
