Armed robbers in Nairobi steal Sh400,000 from a driver.

Police in Nairobi are looking into a report of a car being halted and the driver being robbed of Sh400,000, three cameras, six computers, and four mobile phones.

This happened on Wednesday morning in Karen, where the driver claimed being carjacked at gunpoint, his wrists tied, and then thrown in the trunk of his car.

Calvin Kirochi allegedly said to police that he was driving a salon vehicle on Waiyaki Way on Tuesday night when he was stopped by two motorcyclists near the Kempisky Hotel.

At gunpoint, one of the motorcyclists’ riders instructed the driver to open the passenger door and proceed to Thika Road and the La Mada Hotel area.

He was bundled into the back of a vehicle by two armed guys who bound his wrists and drove him to the Karen area, where they abandoned him.

The victim proceeded to the Karen police station and reported the incident.

Authorities believe the group had previous knowledge of the victim, and investigations into this claim are continuing.
