Atwoli welcomes probe into alleged Ksh16 billion theft before 2022 elections.

Date:

Francis Atwoli, Secretary-General of COTU-K, supports the government’s efforts to hold those responsible for stealing public funds accountable.

Atwoli welcomed the investigation into the alleged embezzlement of Ksh16 billion before the 2022 elections and urged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to name the culprits.

Atwoli believes that this would provide closure to the Azimio coalition party, of which he was a part.

Atwoli also called for those who took government money but did not use it for its intended purpose to be held accountable.

Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o revealed her role in the transfer of Ksh15 billion from the Treasury, stating that she was under duress from a Cabinet Secretary.
