Babu Owino, MP representing Embakasi East, has been appointed to the rank of ODM’s Secretary of Science and Technology.
The registrar of political parties, Ann Nderitu, acknowledged the adjustments authorized by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s party in a gazette notice issued on October 21.
In his new position, Babu Owino succeeded Steve Mbogo.
Mbogo defected from the ODM to join the Safina Party of businessman Jimi Wanjigi.
Babu Owino and Ledama Ole Kina, the senator for Narok, had pushed the ODM to compensate them for their commitment to Raila and the strong campaigns they conducted on his behalf during the August 9 election period.
Despite their loyalty to former prime minister Raila Odinga, the two stated that young people were being ignored in legislative leadership.
Later on, it was reported that Ledama would be serving as the Senate’s deputy minority whip and that Babu would be taking over as ODM’s new secretary of science and technology.
Nderitu gave anyone who wanted to protest against the appointments a week to do so.
