Balala begs Ruto for a job

Published on

Although he has publicly stated his willingness to serve in the upcoming government, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has received varied responses from a segment of Kenyans and President-elect William Ruto’s friends.

On Friday, September 9, Balala said that he was interested in joining Ruto’s cabinet and that he was ready to serve in any role.

“I am happy and humbled and I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving me the chance to serve the nation. I welcome President Ruto and I am ready to serve in his government whenever it’s necessary,” he stated.

Ruto loyalist and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi and lawyer Miguna Miguna took exception to his comments and accused him of switching sides.

Contrarily, Miguna said that the CS should step down now that he has been a part of the government for so long.

While some Kenyans were critical of the CS, others praised him for showing a readiness to cooperate with the new government.
