Captain William Ruto appointed as new Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director

Captain William Ruto has been appointed by Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen as the new Kenya Ports Authority managing director, filling a vacancy that has been open for the last three years.

The appointment was made official in a gazette notice which stated that Captain Ruto would serve in this capacity for the next three years.

Captain Ruto has 32 years of experience in the maritime industry, having started his career at KPA as a Cadet Marine Deck Officer in 1991, and has risen through the ranks to become a General Manager, Operations, and later a Harbour Master.

Until his recent appointment, he was the General Manager of the Kisumu Port.
