Graham Potter’s first game in charge of Chelsea was a tight one, as Raheem Sterling scored the team’s first goal against RB Salzburg, but the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
The result does little to alleviate the strain on Chelsea’s Champions League Group E campaign, where they currently sit last out of four teams with a severely diminished prospect of advancing to the competition’s knockout phases.
Potter, the new manager, admitted after the game that he was “frustrated” by the result; he was proud of his team’s effort, but he knows that winning is expected at Chelsea.
