Raila Odinga, a former prime minister, has called a meeting to prevent a quarrel from breaking out inside the Azimio la Umoja alliance.
After former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s loss in the Presidential election, the coalition’s two largest parties, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Jubilee Party, have been exchanging blame.
On Sunday, November 20th, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna informed the media that the Jubilee party, headed by Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, had failed to fulfill its promise to deliver 40% of the votes in Mount Kenya.
He claims that Raila was misled by General Jeremiah Kioni about the chances of success for Azimio in the Mt. Kenya area.
However, Kioni said that the Jubilee team had delivered 1.2 million votes, making the former Prime Minister a resounding victory in the area.
In addition, he claimed that he was disqualified from winning a parliamentary seat because of his connections to the coalition.
However, Sifuna reiterated that ODM was willing to meet with every coalition member to resolve any disagreements.
