DCI Uncovers Misinformation Plot in Alleged Police Raid on Matiang’i’s Home

On Thursday, February 9, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mohamed Amin, dispelled the claims of a police raid on former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s home. Through their investigations, the DCI uncovered a well-orchestrated plot to create tension through misinformation.

DCI’s Findings:

The DCI boss, Mohamed Amin, denounced the reports of a police raid on Matiang’i’s home, stating that their preliminary findings had uncovered evidence of a well-coordinated and deliberate attempt to spread false information and incite public fear, unfortunately, spearheaded by a former Interior Security Cabinet Secretary.

The Plot Unfolds:

Detailing the events that took place on February 8, DCI Amin noted that Matiang’i had informed his guards of an impending arrest and ordered them to lock out the press from his compound. The former CS then instructed the guards to allow the police access to his home but to lock out the press. The statement further noted that a communication team alerted media houses, which caused a nationwide alarm. Amin faulted the media for rushing to publish the reports without conducting the necessary checks to ascertain the matter’s concreteness. Further investigations are underway to unravel the fine details of the claims and allow for subsequent action against the involved culprits.
