Boniface Muganda, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) head creative designer, was killed yesterday night after he was struck by a speeding driver along the northern by-bass near Marurui.
Muganda, a member of the Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Unit, was riding his motorcycle home when he was struck by a fast driver, who then drove off, leaving Muganda lying helplessly a few meters from his motorcycle.
The event occurred at 9:40 p.m., and first rescuers rushed the detective to Kenyatta University hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the hospital’s entrance.
Detectives of all levels who were unable to accept Muganda’s death rushed to K.U hospital late yesterday night in the vain hope of finding him alive, and the news quickly spread throughout the tight-knit DCI family. However, his body was chilly and there were no outward signs of injury.
Because of his skills in videography and graphic design, he was promoted to manage the DCI’s Comms unit’s creative design desk. The former forensic photography and acoustics unit investigator who also worked as the magazine’s creative director also contributed to the most recent edition of DCI Magazine including the coverage of last Thursday’s Mashujaa day celebrations at Uhuru gardens.
The accident investigation has begun, and the fleeing motorist will likely be apprehended soon.
