DP Gachagua Clarifies Controversial Statement about government shareholders

Date:

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua clarified his statement during the launch of the Nairobi Water Commission at Korogocho that the government was like a company where the majority shareholders reap big.

He explained that his statement applied to the appointment of public servants and not to development.

Gachagua emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza government would serve all Kenyans equally, regardless of political affiliation, and development would be rolled out all over Kenya as every Kenyan pays taxes.

Gachagua highlighted that President William Ruto would choose public servants from those who acknowledged the Bottom Up Agenda, and those who understood the agenda were needed to make progress.

The DP further stated that the government would prioritize those who backed their presidential bid when it comes to sharing opportunities in government.

He also mentioned that his role at State House was to ensure regions that supported them received development first.

In Swahili, Gachagua quoted Ruto as saying that this Kenya is for all Kenyans, whether they voted for him or not.

He promised to serve all Kenyans equally and keep up the good work.

He said that the president would serve all Kenyans, and his economic transformation agenda would bring progress to the nation.

The launch of the Nairobi Water Commission at Korogocho was captured in various photos.
