Education CS Ezekiel Machogu appoints new council for Meru University

Two days after Meru University Vice Chancellor Romanus Odhiambo was suspended, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has appointed a new council in a gazette notice effective from March 10.

Jane Kiringai has been appointed as the new council chairperson for three years.

The other council members are Janet Afandi Ominde, Martin Kinoti, Jacob Kwaba, Lucy Rimanto Ndonket, and Sylvester Kibbiwott Kinyor.

The newly appointed council replaces the former council chaired by Bosire Mwebi who suspended Odhiambo on February 27.

Machogu directed the Bosire Mwebi-led council to reinstate Odhiambo and ensure he resumed his duties.

The ministry had announced that the council’s term would come to an end on March 9 and that it was taking the necessary steps to constitute a successor council.
