According to the Nairobi Fire Department, the Airtel building along Mombasa Road was not on fire, but instead, the smoke was coming from a dumping site that had been set on fire.
Firefighters had been dispatched to the area to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
There were no reported injuries or deaths at the scene.
However, it was advised for witnesses to keep a safe distance from fire incidents to avoid burn injuries and inhaling harmful fumes emitted from burning fires.
