False doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu imprisoned for 29 years.

    Published on

Known as Mugo Wairimu, James Mugo Ndichu has been sentenced to 29 years in prison on November 21 for unlawfully operating a medical clinic.

Mugo was found guilty on Thursday, November 17 of unlawfully operating a medical clinic and practicing medicine without the proper education or licensing.

Mugo was charged with 12 separate offenses, but only 10 were found guilty by Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni of Milimani.

Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni issued the following ruling: “He is a risk to society and deserves to be kept away for a long time.”

The court ruled that he “went forward by professing to be a gynecologist and providing medications to them” rather than utilizing the “knowledge he claims he learned to help society.”

An investigation revealed that Mugo Wa Wairimu was operating an unlicensed clinic and pharmacy.

In rendering the verdict, the court said that Mugo was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The court found that Mugo abused his position as a trained medical professional from the University of Nairobi to sexually molest patients via the use of drugs.

A witness has testified that one of Wairimu’s patients went asleep after taking medicines from him and, upon regaining consciousness, discovered that she was naked.
