In Bobasi, Kisii County, a longstanding land dispute between two brothers took a tragic turn that led to the death of four people and multiple injuries.
The dispute had been ongoing for almost twenty years, with one brother being evicted from the land by court order.
Despite this, the evicted family attempted to prepare for burial on the property, which infuriated the other family.
As tensions escalated, the evicted family posted guards on the land, but the other family and community members came together to stop the burial and land encroachment, resulting in a violent clash.
This attack left four guards dead and three houses burned to the ground.
