Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i’s Home Raided

Date:

In a shocking turn of events, police officers descended on the Karen home of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday night. The raid was carried out for unspecified reasons, leaving many in the country stunned and questioning the motive behind the operation.

Raila Odinga Steps In

In a show of solidarity, ODM leader Raila Odinga arrived at the former CS’s home accompanied by a team of lawyers. The veteran politician stated that he will spend the night at the residence until the matter is resolved, adding that he will not leave the former CS to face the issue alone.

Investigation in Progress

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has denied any involvement in the raid, leaving the public to speculate on the possible instigators. The Assets Recovery Agency has, however, been linked to the operation, leading to further questions on the nature of the arrest.

The former CS, who is widely regarded as one of the most successful cabinet secretaries in recent history, has vehemently defended himself from any wrongdoing. He stated that he left the government as a clean man, with no scandals or corruption allegations tarnishing his reputation.

Police Remain Silent

At the time of going to press, the National Police Service had yet to comment on the raid, leaving the public in the dark regarding the situation. The country awaits a statement from the authorities on the arrest and the reason behind the raid on Fred Matiang’i’s home.
