Governor Kawira Mwangaza confirms that her sister serves as her bodyguard.

The EACC has accused Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza of nepotism and conflict of interest, but Mwangaza has denied the allegations.

Kawira made it clear to the reporters on Friday afternoon outside the Milimani Law Courts that her husband’s position as youth patron is entirely voluntary and that he would not be compensated in any way by the county government.

She has also revealed that she has two sisters working for her, however, one of them is a bodyguard who is a police officer with the National Police Service and so is not paid by the county government.

Her other sister is her personal assistant, and she’s been with her for five years.

The governor went on to say that she is free to handpick her own team of aides.

In addition, she has said that the impeachment petition that was submitted against her is nothing but a bunch of nonsense.

In response to the accusations made by Selasio Thuranira and the MCAs, Kawira has said that she is prepared to defend herself.
