After Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea fired manager Thomas Tuchel. On Wednesday, Brighton manager Graham Potter met with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly for the first time.
Graham Potter, manager of Brighton, has verbally agreed to become Chelsea’s next head coach, replacing Thomas Tuchel.
On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with Potter in the heart of London to discuss the Brighton manager’s potential future role at Stamford Bridge and the club’s aspirations to expand its football operations as a whole.
Though no official paperwork has been completed, a verbal understanding has been reached that the 47-year-old will take over at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea made it clear they were willing to meet the price Brighton set as Potter’s release clause.
