The growing fissures in Raila Odinga’s ODM were exposed by the public feud between Saboti MP Caleb Amisi and Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina.
On Friday, October 7th, interaction took place when Amisi dismissed Ole Kina’s suggestion that Azimio proposes Kanini Kega, a former Kieni MP, to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Amisi cautioned Senator Ole Kina from using his position to accommodate Azimio loyalists who had lost the most recent General Election.
He also said that those who lost in the election could search for government positions.
Although President William Ruto’s UDA was riding a powerful “yellow wave” in Central Kenya, Ledama said that Kega had stayed faithful to the coalition’s flagbearer and his running partner, Martha Karua.
It has been questioned recently whether Jubilee is still a member of the Azimio coalition, which may have contributed to the tensions that led to this conflict.
