How to use the MPESA app to access HELB Loan

Prior to the start of each new semester, college and university students get their loan funds from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

Loan recipients often withdraw funds from their bank accounts or through mobile banking applications, which may be cumbersome at times, particularly when making frequent expenditures necessary to fund their education.

Learn how to withdraw and use your HELB money using your M-PESA wallet.

To access your cash via the mobile money service provider, you must first download the M-PESA mobile application from Google Play or Apple Store.
Users who have never used the app before must register using the registered M-PESA number and information, while those who already have an account should continue to log in.

Once you’ve created an account, log in to view the homepage and browse the menu of choices.

To open the menu and choose HELB from the various categories, click on the education option located under the “services” option.

After accepting the terms and conditions, you will need to sign up for the HELB mini-app.

You will get a verification code after logging in, and this code is necessary for you to log in.

After logging in successfully, choose the withdraw option to send the funds to your standard M-PESA account.

2021 saw the launch of the M-PESA wallet thanks to a collaboration between HELB and Safaricom.

The two organizations claim that the action was taken to provide convenience for loan recipients and to encourage responsible use of the money.
