Itumbi pushes for expedited charges in Ruaraka land case against Matiang’i

Date:

Dennis Itumbi, a digital strategist and close ally of President William Ruto, has presented a letter to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Ethic and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) calling for the speedy handling of the Ruaraka land acquisition case.

Itumbi has given the DPP seven days to expedite the charges against former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and 23 others accused in the case, or he will initiate prosecution against Matiang’i as a private prosecutor.

Itumbi alleges that the DPP and EACC are not handling the case quickly enough, despite the possibility of taxpayers losing Ksh1.5 billion.

Matiang’i was recently accused of conspiracy to commit a felony and publishing false information on an alleged police raid at his Karen home.
