Jeremiah Kioni: Why Azimio Agents Weren’t Present at the Polling Stations

Published on

Jeremiah Kioni, the secretary general of the Jubilee Party, has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of making unneeded demands on the coalition in order to explain why Azimio la Umoja agents were not present in voting stations.

In a Monday, August 22 interview, Kioni said that IEBC officials had denied Azimio agents entrance to polling stations because the agents’ appointment letters were unstamped.

Several of their agents in Mount Kenya and Western were impacted, he continued.

The SG further said that the plot was premeditated as part of an alleged rigging plan by their rivals.
Kioni added that Azimio has gathered sufficient proof to back the petition opposing the victory of Deputy President William Ruto in the presidential election on August 9.

He said that several individuals have backed their position with certified documents that would explain the riddle surrounding the charges of vote-rigging.
