Joseph Boinnet has been appointed as the Deputy National Security Advisor, according to a Gazette Notice Volume CXXV No.60.

The Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei confirmed that Boinnet would start serving in the role from March 6th.
He will work under National Security Advisor, Ambassador Monica Juma, who was confirmed as the Secretary of the Council.

The appointments were made in line with the National Security Council Act of (No.23 of 2012).
Juma’s responsibilities will include recording the Council’s proceedings, preparing and circulating meeting agendas, and arranging the Council’s business.
The Council is mandated by Article 240 of the Constitution to integrate national security policies and assess risks to the Republic.
