Jeremiah Kioni, the embattled secretary of Kenya’s Jubilee Party, is continuing to fire up grassroots activities despite leadership wrangles.
Kioni, who remains in office due to a Political Parties Disputes Tribunal injunction, has been meeting with caucus representatives from within the party to strengthen networks at devolved units.
The meetings, which include leaders and mobilizers from Kiambu county, are part of the party’s 2022-2023 plan to devolve Jubilee from Nairobi to the grassroots.
Kioni had been ousted by pro-William Ruto MPs, who accused him of running the party as a one-man show.
However, he and vice-chairman David Murathe were reinstated pending a hearing and determination of the matter by the PPDT.
