Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has spoken out against Raila Odinga’s proposed mass action drive, stating that Azimio governors and their deputies should not participate in protests as it would be considered an attack on the government.
Instead, he suggested that MPs and senators, who oversee the government, should take part in protests.
The police have already taken measures to block roads leading to State House, in anticipation of potential confrontations with Azimio supporters.
The Deputy Governor explained that they already have a summit chaired by the President and all 47 governors and their deputies, where they address their concerns on devolution to the Head of State.
He also pointed out that it is impractical to fight against the government, as they receive funding for development and recurrent expenditure from taxpayers.
