The son of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was apparently hurt in a vehicle collision at the screening area of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Though the young man’s identification has not been confirmed, he is widely believed to be Kalonzo’s younger son – Klein Kalonzo.
JKIA sources claim that a truck lost control on the Nairobi Expressway and swerved into Airport Road, colliding with the SUV carrying Kalonzo’s son and his colleagues. The passengers reportedly only suffered minor injuries overall.
Dan Maanzo, a senator for Makueni, has stated that East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) member Kennedy Musyoka, Kalonzo’s older son was not the wounded person. Maanzo said he had spoken to Kennedy, who is now out of the country and attempting to contact his family.
Furthermore, Kalonzo Musyoka himself was unavailable for comment as he was at an event in Kisii. Reports also suggest that the young man was in the company of Machakos Trade CEC, Sharon Nthoki, and photos shared on social media show that Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti was also at the scene.
Ex-governor of Nairobi Mike Sonko was one among the many Kenyans to respond to the news, urging people to pray for Musyoka’s recovery. Through his Facebook, he said that a drunk truck driver had struck their automobile from behind and caused the accident.
There have been growing concerns about the rising number of accidents in the nation, and this incident just adds to those worries. The National Transport and Safety Authority reported that the number of accidents increased to 4432 in 2022, up from 4271 the previous year.
