After three successful years of hosting the breakfast show at Kiss FM under the Radio Africa Group, Michelle Kamene Goro, famously known as Kamene Goro, was set to make a shocking exit from the station. The news of her exit was sadly received by her fans on Thursday, January 19th, but the reason for her departure remained a mystery.
Efforts to contact Kamene for a comment on her exit were futile by the time the news broke. However, sources close to the radio station revealed that the reason for her departure was a fallout with her co-host, Thompson Maghana, alias Oga Obinna.
Despite the disappointment of Kamene’s departure, the Radio Africa Group quickly moved to fill the void by announcing the addition of renowned radio presenter Sheila Kwamboka, alias Kwambox, to the team. The Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Martin Khafafa, praised Kwamboka for her over 20 years of experience in the media industry and stated that her addition would give listeners a chance to enjoy “bigger, better, more engaging radio.”
Kwamboka, who was previously at Vybez Radio, was not known to many as a former news reporter at K24, where she worked alongside NTV’s Smriti Vidyarthi and others. The Radio Africa Group, based in Westlands Nairobi, owns several popular stations including Classic105, Kiss100, Radio Jambo, Homeboyz, Gukena, and East FM. Program controllers at the station were set to incorporate Kwamboka into the program over the next couple of days.
Despite the disappointment of Kamene’s exit, fans eagerly anticipated the fresh perspective and experience Kwamboka would bring to the breakfast show and the Radio Africa Group as a whole.
