Manchester City reluctantly decided to sell Keira Walsh after rejecting repeated bids from Barcelona this summer. Walsh is now free to negotiate terms and organise a physical with the team. The 25-year-old is in her last year of contract and wants out.
The world-record £400,000 fee has been completed.
Man City is looking for someone to replace Walsh before the deadline for WSL transfers on Thursday.
Walsh was voted player of the match when England defeated Germany 1-0 in the final at Wembley this summer, and she was instrumental in England’s victory, earning her team the title of champions at Euro 2022.
The 25-year-old has been at City since July 2014 and has already made 189 appearances, scoring eight goals. The English national team has capped her 49 times.
