Kenya donates 240 tonnes of aid to Turkey after earthquake devastation

Kenya donated 240 tonnes of aid material to Turkey following a devastating earthquake through the United Nations Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nairobi.

The donations included tents, blankets, sleeping mats, plastic tarpaulin sheets, and plastic tarpaulin rolls.

The materials were sent from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Adana Incirlik Base in Turkey.

Two additional flights were planned for the shipment of the remaining aid materials.

The Turkish Embassy in Nairobi expressed appreciation for the donation.

The earthquake’s death toll rose to 44,128, and while no Kenyan was reported to have been affected, the government urged any Kenyan stuck in Turkey to seek aid through the emergency number: +905385020960.
