Johnson Sakaja, the governor of Nairobi, has come under fire for erecting billboards in the nation’s capital that welcome Kenyans who had journeyed upcountry for festivities.
Sakaja and his deputy, James Njoroge Muchiri, were featured on the billboards.
Some Kenyans thought it was inappropriate to focus on the billboards when there were more serious issues to deal with.
Someone else on social media criticized Sakaja for being hypocritical on the subject of billboards.
Even still, there were groups of Kenyans who sided with Sakaja, saying the message of the welcome back was appropriate.
