Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi warns illegal construction developers.

    Published on

The governor of Kiambu, Kimani Wamatangi, has issued a stern warning to builders who are breaking the law.

Those who are caught buildings without a permit will have their constructions dismantled and face legal consequences, according to Wamatangi.

On Thursday morning, the governor addressed the nation from Ruaka, where a five-story construction structure had just crumbled near the Fortune Club.

“The best way to deal with this issue is to prevent it from occurring. Construction should be halted, the structure should be dismantled, and the individual should be prosecuted if they have not complied with the law.” he declared.

The governor said that the fallen building had previously been investigated and that the relevant paperwork had been sent to the DPP.

He continued by saying that he is ready to bring charges against the guilty parties as soon as he receives approval from the DPP.

One individual was rescued before the rescue crew arrived.

The Kiambu county fire department, the Red Cross, and the police all responded.
