Lawyer Danstan Omari claims government intimidation in response to DCI summon

Danstan Omari, a Kenyan lawyer, has criticized the DCI over his summoning regarding the alleged raid on Fred Matiang’i’s home, saying it’s a political witch-hunt.

Omari, who has represented senior leaders without being implicated, including former Deputy President William Ruto, has accused the government of intimidation.

He questioned why Raila Odinga, who was present at Matiang’i’s home, was not summoned.

The government has faced backlash for the crackdown on its critics.

Omari’s meeting with the DCI was postponed from Wednesday to Thursday.

The DCI is yet to comment on the issue.
