Lawyer Danstan Omari has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) over allegations of publishing false information related to a raid at the home of Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
The DCI has directed Omari to appear at its headquarters at 9:30 am to provide information about the alleged raid.
Failure to comply with the requisition constitutes an offence liable to prosecution.
While Matiang’i’s legal team claimed his home was raided, various agencies have called the reports false, and the DCI has stated that Omari’s summons is not related to the February 8 raid.
The DCI is investigating the allegations and has reasons to believe Omari has information that could assist the investigations.
