The representative for Raila Odinga’s campaign secretariat, Makau Mutua, rejected the accusation of creating a letter that purportedly supported the LGBTQ community.
The falsified document alleged that Azimio, Odinga’s alliance party, belonged to the LGBTQ community and censured the Supreme Court’s decision allowing LGBTQ groups to register while denouncing attacks against them.
Mutua explained that it was a deceptive tactic intended to damage Azimio’s reputation, and urged the public to disregard it.
Additionally, he expressed his personal view that no one should be subjected to discrimination based on their sexual orientation.
Earlier, Odinga had criticized the Supreme Court for breaching the Constitution and engaging in law-making, which was the Parliament’s role.
