Masai’s new role came three months after he parted ways with NTV, where he worked as a news presenter for over 14 years. He was one of several journalists affected by a reshuffle at the Nation Media Group-owned media outlet in December 2022. Despite his departure from NTV, Masai remains optimistic about his future in the media industry, asserting that “this is not the end of [his] career in the media.”
In addition to his time at NTV, Masai has also worked as a marketing consultant and has helped some of Kenya’s prominent companies in building their brands.
