Prior to the selection of a permanent successor, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has named Massa Hamisi Salim to serve as Director of Criminal Investigation.

The commission made the nomination of Salim official on Thursday, September 29.

The news comes shortly after the departure of George Kinoti, who had been the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The search for Kinoti’s replacement will continue for the next two weeks, during which time Salim will act as interim Director.

Thursday, September 29 was the day when NPSC released the job advertisement for the post.
