After his two-week trip to the UK, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has returned to Kenya and is expected to present himself at the DCI headquarters on March 6 to record a statement regarding an alleged police raid at his Karen-based home on February 8, 2023.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua challenged Matiang’i to return to the country and honor the DCI summons, accusing him of being a coward for allegedly flying to the UK to avoid answering the police.
Gachagua advised the former Interior CS to honor the summons as other leaders did during retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) also requested certified copies of Matiang’i’s wealth declaration from 2012 to 2022, including the initial and final declarations, from the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
