Mejja Takes a Break from Music

Date:

The gengetone sensation, Mejja, has taken a break from music due to throat issues. In a recent interview with Mseto East Africa, the singer shared his struggles and asked his fans to pray for him as he recovers.

Throat Issues Take a Toll on Mejja

In 2022, Mejja was forced to cancel one of his shows in Australia due to a loss of voice. Despite taking over-the-counter drugs, the pain persisted and he eventually noticed some spots of blood when clearing his throat. He sought medical attention and was told that he needed a month of complete voice rest, as well as voice hygiene therapy.

Music is My Life, But My Health Comes First

Mejja shared that the situation has been affecting him psychologically, but he is determined to return to making music as soon as possible. He implored his fans to pray for him and encouraged them to take care of their own vocal health by drinking plenty of water and avoiding sugary substances.

“I don’t want to leave music,” Mejja said. “I just need some time to take care of my throat so that I can keep entertaining my fans.”
