Meru University’s council members have been suspended from their positions effective March 9.
This is according to Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
The council’s term is set to end in two days.
Machogu stated that the ministry will take the necessary steps to form a new council.
The suspension comes after the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Romanus Odhiambo, was also suspended due to poor performance.
The council, led by Chairman Bosire Mwebi, made the decision to suspend Odhiambo on February 27.
Other council members include Muriira M’Mbwiria, Stephen Kimani, Dick Waswa, Pauline Jeruto, Naomi Kipuri, Paul Mungai, and Damaris Nyasuguta from the Treasury department.
