Migosi Ogamba, ally of President Ruto, named new board chair of KenGen

Migosi Ogamba, a prominent lawyer and politician who is closely aligned with President William Ruto, has been named the new board chairperson of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen).

Ogamba was among the new directors who joined the company during its AGM in January and was picked during a full board members meeting on Tuesday to succeed former Chief Of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe.

Ogamba has over 30 years of legal practice and was also Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu’s running mate for the Kisii county governor’s seat.

His appointment is viewed as part of President Ruto’s strategic plan to grant top state positions to members of the Abagusii community.
