On March 8, William Kamket, a member of parliament, asked the Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya to clarify the measures taken in the ongoing recruitment of Kenya Forest Service officers.
During a National Assembly session, Kamket demanded the CS explain the procedure followed to prevent the marginalization of some communities during the recruitment, especially in cosmopolitan areas.
The Kenya Forest Service announced a mass recruitment targeting 2,300 forest ranger recruits, with the process scheduled to commence on March 8.
Following Kamket’s request, the CS will be summoned to appear before the National Assembly’s departmental committee on Environment and Forestry to respond to the concerns raised.
