Najma Ismail, a news anchor and reporter, has left KTN News and Standard after serving for nine years.
In a statement, she stated that she was leaving to pursue other interests and did not reveal her next assignment.
Najma’s career at the station was marked by a series of achievements, including becoming the first Hijab-wearing English news anchor in Kenya and heading the Gender Desk, which promoted positive coverage of women thriving in various fields.
Her departure comes after nine years of working at the station, where she received accolades, including being ranked among Kenya’s Top 30 Muslim Achievers.
