Tim Wanyonyi, MP for Westlands, has declared his loyalty to the ODM and the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition.
Prior to the August 9 elections, Johnson Sakaja, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s gubernatorial candidate, indicated they were in talks to cooperate.
Wanyonyi declared his re-election in a video posted on Twitter.
Wanyonyi declares his political views for the first time since the Azimio chose Jubilee’s Polycarp Igathe for Nairobi governor.
After losing the governor’s race, the MP started giving mixed signals about his political future.
Having been seen with Sakaja on the day he quit and then making comments on social media implying he was contemplating his political future enraged his supporters.
This has been strongly refuted by the politician, who claims that his leadership philosophy has always been and will continue to be about the people he represents.
