The NTSA has warned Kenyans about syndicates selling driving licenses on social media.
The NTSA revealed 4 social media accounts advertising false driving license services on Thursday, April 7.
The authorities maintained that they did not control the online pages, stressing that many Kenyans had been scammed.
The NTSA also advised motorists who had been duped to contact the police.
“The public should be wary of anybody claiming to represent the NTSA. Conned by the page or mentioned cellphone numbers: 0713232880, 0711907009 & 0707214408? Please report to the local Police Station “
Following a BBC Africa exposé where certain unscrupulous driving school administrators and NTSA workers cooperated to grant unskilled Kenyans licenses, NTSA has come under fire.
As a result, the transport regulator responded that the DCI was handling the situation.
Gerald Wangai, chief of Motor Vehicle Inspection, said NTSA staff implicated in the unlawful enterprise will be disciplined.
According to Wangai, the NTSA has a section led by the DCI and will take disciplinary action against anybody found guilty, even if it means firing.
