The Youth Affairs, Sports, and Arts CS Ababu Namwamba has named journalist Njogu wa Njoroge as the new Chairperson of the Kenya Film and Classification Board.
Alongside Njoroge, seven other board members have been appointed, including John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri, and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito.
Their appointment to the board is for a three-year term.
Despite Njoroge’s unsuccessful bid for the Njoro parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket, he has been appointed as the head of the board, a significant achievement after his alleged firing from Mediamax.
Njoroge is a well-known Kikuyu radio presenter and has hosted several shows, including Thingira on Kameme FM and Rikiratha on Kameme TV.
On January 21, 2022, Njoroge confirmed that he had officially joined UDA and would be contesting for the Njoro constituency parliamentary seat during the General Election.

After becoming a UDA member, Njoroge pledged to help DP Ruto spread the Bottom-Up message in the Njoro constituency in Nakuru County.
